NusPARC Dance Company (NDC)

Background

Established in March 2017, NusPARC Dance Company (NDC) is an all-inclusive dance company under Nusantara Performing Arts Research Centre Based in Kuala Lumpur, NDC has a long-term vision to create a permanent, high calibre, traditional and contemporary dance company that will represent Malaysia nationally and internationally.


Our Vision

Founded by Malaysia’s respected performing arts scholar, Professor Dr. Mohd Anis Md Nor, the vision for NusPARC Dance Company is to be a hotbed of creative collaboration, a place to be artistically brave, existing to present compelling work that moves and inspires a dedicated and growing group of dance artists. NDC courageously embraces fresh thinking and a commitment to producing collaborative new works. NDC ultimately aims to create full-time opportunities for dancers and choreographers to encourage and engage the dance audience.


Our Programme

NDC has developed a Social Entrepreneurship Programme, which offers university/college graduates and talented youth the opportunity to participate in dance classes, workshops, and performances through NusPARC’s teaching and mentoring programmes. We are committed to creating pathways for Malaysia’s young population to dance in local and international events.

NDC Performances:

DANCE XCHANGE: The Philippines International Dance Workshop and Festival (in Isabela, 8-11 May 2017; Dumaguete City, Negros Oriental, 26-30 April 2018; Roxas City, Capiz, 26 – 30 April, 2019) at the invitation of the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA Philippines).

Dance in Proximity Conference and Festival (10-11 November 2017)), co-sponsored by World Dance Alliance Asia-Pacific (WDAAP) and Taiwan Dance Research Society at Taipei National University of the Arts (TNUA), Taipei, Taiwan.

Panggung Rakyat 2019 (19 October 2019). Organised by Cultural Economy Development Agency (CENDANA) and Kuala Lumpur City Hall.
