NusPARC offers training in Social Entrepreneurship for graduates of Performing Arts schools & colleges in Malaysia. The objectives of Social Entrepreneurship in NusPARC are to provide:
Awareness of Performing Arts as a practice of innovation and resourcefulness to address critical social-culture and business opportunities.
Transforming systems and practices of Performing Arts including dance, music, and theatre for sustainable entrepreneurship.
Adopting a mission to create and sustain social and commercial value of the Performing Arts.
Engaging in continuous innovation, adaptation and learning of Social Entrepreneurship in the Performing Arts industry.
Methods
Recruitment of college and university students of dance, music and theatre as entrepreneurs of profit sharing enterprise.
Nurturing and providing the infrastructure and mentors/trainers to Social Entrepreneurs in the Performing Arts industry, specifically in traditional and contemporary dances of Malaysia.
Promoting innovative marketing orientation for Social Entrepreneurs to engage dance, music, and theatre as creative industries.
Create inbound and outbound dance classes for children, young adults and adults within the vicinity of Taman Tun Dr Ismail, Damansara, and North Petaling Jaya.
Deliver structured dance teaching and learning based on Pro-formas approved by the Centre.
Learning Outcomes
Programme Learning Outcomes
Successful students will recognise learned repertoires from specific performance genres.
Cohorts of different age groups will recall teaching and learning methodologies acquired from classroom/studio experience as resource information.
Classroom/studio participants will be able to describe the essential knowledge of traditional or contemporary dance and music.
Teachers/instructors will comprehend performative skills required for Social Entrepreneurship activities.
Course Learning Outcomes
Ability to work in teams/groups.
Proficiency in the repertoires based on instruction/learning levels.
Collectively identify the essential knowledge, skills and attitudes required by dance students/practitioners/entrepreneurs in the subject area and/or given genres.
Instructional Objectives
Students/Participants/Social Entrepreneur candidates will be able to perform structured movement systems, different styles of performance, musicality, emotion, and the context of dance forms within the background of classroom/studio experience.
Cultivate awareness and appreciation of Malaysian dance heritage as practice and/or vocation.
Fostering social-cultural awareness and spirit of togetherness and tolerance in a multi-cultural society by recognizing cultural diversity through dance.
